Is it treasonous for Democratic Gov. Bev Perdue to advocate suspending elections?

Speaking to a Rotary Club group North Caroline Gov. Bev Perdue said the following: "You have to have more ability from Congress, I think, to work together and to get over the partisan bickering and focus on fixing things. I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell...

It's funny to hear libs say they have worked across party lines or that they compromise. Their idea of working across party lines is having either the repub party agree to everything the dems want, or having the repub party with so little votes that they are ineffectual.

The dems have held the state house and state senate for 120+ years, they are just upset that they no longer control the show and the repubs are not backing down from the dems now.

Bev Perdue is a disgrace of a governor, just like all of her dem counterparts before her.

Yes, I live in NC, and have for the last 38 years.

It goes against everything our system of government is founded on. I don't think it rises to the level of treason though as she has not actively done anything to endanger the security of the nation. It is at best just a stupid statement which should cost her the next election.

@Blah Blah - Rick Perry never advocated secession. It is true that he acknowledged secessionist sentiment which exists for some in Texas in a speech. However in that same speech he also said that secession was not the right move and that the power of the country existed because of the unity of the people as a whole.

She doesn't get it....

The Congress is part of the problem.

By all means let's protect the Congress from the will of the people and let the Democrats carry out their destructive policies with no fear of the consequences.

It may not be treason, but it sure should be grounds for her removal from office when she come up for re-election.
5. So easy, a democrat could do it!
Yes it is. I'm hoping that the people of NC are paying attention to the dangerous moon-bat that they elected. If you wait long enough, the mask always comes off of a statist/liberal and the agenda of tyranny becomes apparent.

Treason
1. the offense of acting to overthrow one's government or to harm or kill its sovereign.
2. a violation of allegiance to one's sovereign or to one's state.

How is that treason? It violates the Constitution but is not treason.

Are you too dim-witted to know sarcastic jokes when you see them?
She wasn't serious you wingnut.

For crying out loud. Perdue is not ADVOCATING suspending elections - it's a friggin' joke - and only a nitwit who should be declared "legally too stupid to vote" would think otherwise.

Most functionally literate and informed people (although even this minimal requirement seems to exceed the abilities of some conservatives) agree that our elected officials should spend more time working and less time campaigning.

It's not like she revealed the identity of a CIA operative like the Bush administration (according to the CIA):

Only two Administrations in American history have had high-ranking White House officials convicted of planning and committing felony crimes from inside the Oval Office – Reagan and G.W. Bush.
