Oh gosh, I wish I could send all my college friends after the creep so you wouldn't need a lawyer...

Addison, Glen Ellyn, Naperville, etc... About 20+ could fix your situation in a heartbeat... They have zero tolerance for men abusing women...

Now, from my own personal experience... Mental abuse can lead down a horrific path of self-destruction. I attempted suicide 3 times in the last 6 months of my 2 year relationship with a verbal and mental abuser. I thought "I" was the cause of our troubles, but thankfully I didn't succeed.

Ask for support from those around you that you know and trust such as any family or friend he hasn't completely cut from your life yet. Reach out to those you once confided in because they're probably waiting for that phone call.

Get out!!! Pack a bag and go stay with someone who you trust, and has YOUR best interests at heart.

Once you are out of the situation and have had a day or two to think then begin the process of ending the relationship on all levels and moving on with your life.

If you feel your life is in danger then file a restraining order...

Good luck!!!

Call your local bar association and also find a shelter you can go to to get away from this guy.
